After 2 years collecting stuff, my favorite side-project is now fully operational: meet the #queergo ! Still a prototype of course, as it's meant to stay, always evolving :)
It's a combination of 2 main things : a cargo-bike (optional) and a modular DIY electric system. The system is itself composed of 3 separate modules, each assembled in its own crate.
- power (105 Ah LiFePo4 battery, 2x5V, 2x12V, 1x19V DC and 8x220V AC plugs), capacity ≤ 1,2kWh
- soundsystem (car amp, 4 speakers, bluetooth module) ≤ 120W
- radio station (mixer, mics, headphone amp, 4G router, FM transmission, laptop) ≤ 180W
Which means an operating life of 4h fully charged and having tested spending even just an hour at full power in different environments, we go out of service first ^^ so I think it can last at least 8 hours in a chiller mood. And there's always the option of plugging another car battery in case of emergency.
An external light plugin makes it reaaally cool in the dark, it turns any place into a fucking wild dancefloor. It drains 130W, so plus the 120W soundsystem, we can hold 5h at full power.
Rechargeable by solar panel, it's very handy for emergency situations like camps or whatever. The bike in itself has already been super useful for food and equipment distribution so let me say I'm getting very busy nowadays!
That's why I care about sharing this setup: we need moaaar! Feel free to ask any question. I must precise that I had to relearn almost everything about electricity because i was really terrible at it. So anyone can do it!
Oh, btw, it costed me :
- cargo bike: 1400€ (5 years ago and I was stolen it for a year but I found it back 10 days ago 🤩)
- powerstation: ~500€
- soundsystem: 25€ (i was really lucky and i've been digging for opportunities since 2 years ^^)
- radio station: ~400€
- lights: ~300€
