@analog_cafe
While most people experience PE groups as they drive a company into the ground whilst extracting maximum short term profit, this is not always the case and many companies (including my employer) are majority or wholly owned by PE that simply want a long term investment to pay off later. Hopefully that is the case here.
It should also be noted Kodak Alaris also makes software and other items the PE firm may be interested in and may not be interested in touching the film department.
@analog_cafe Thanks for investigating! That's cautiously reassuring.
@noah true. This is exactly what I noted under that link. This is the same PE group that owns MEC, an iconic Canadian outdoor equipment brand. It’s been 10 years and we’re still good.
WebMD, who was my employer of 5 years is also doing fine (owned by holdings) and was my most-loved employer thus far.
So there’s certainly hope.
On the other hand, pension funds aren’t known for their efficiency. So there may actually be improvements. We’ll see, I guess.
