We have this Spijsbrood or Stol for Christmas (and Easter) Do you have this too & what do you call the almond paste filling?
Also do you take it
1) With butter but leave the round bit of spijs intact
2) With butter and schmeer out the spijs all over the bread
3) Some other way

@priscillaharing I am German so stollen is a must in our house. But I do not add butter on it. It has marzipan as filling. I bet butter is good on it.
@irisRichardson Butter makes it better - also the front and end bits that have no marzipan greatly improve if you toast them 😋 and then add butter.
