Thankfully, it doesn't happen too often. Last time was in June. I guess because I'm new in town, I'm not yet part of any of the chat groups etc where this information is spread. I had double-checked the website yesterday afternoon, and the event was still advertised.
I guess it just hit me hard yesterday because I'd had a rough day and was really missing my friends back home in Singapore, because they were getting together for a social event. Then finding myself alone in the rain, while everybody else apparently knew that the event was cancelled... it just felt very lonely. Making new friends is hard.
@anna Yes, making new friends is hard! but you are putting in the effort and new interesting people will likely pop up (that will send you a message if stuff gets cancelled and then ask you to go for a tea instead) 🍵
