One year and 4 days since disappearing without trace, Katu’s home!
I posted a reminder photo on the local FB notice board, just in case someone had taken her in. A lady recognised her as a stray her brother (17km away) was feeding, put us in touch….and I brought her home this afternoon.
She’s delighted to be home, has been velcroed to my lap all afternoon, and I’m the happiest man in West Cork tonight 😻😻😻

Got some good news this week. After being retested for pancreatitis, Oliver's numbers are almost back to normal. Miraculously, his diabetes appears to have gone into remission!
The bad news, sadly, is that I am still unemployed and racked up close to $3,000 in veterinary bills over the past month to say nothing of my own expenses. Anything you can do to help is appreciated. Thank you all so much. #cats #catsofmastodon #mutualaid

Ollie (the bigger one) and Tony are my Maine Coon boys. Sometimes they roughhouse and sometimes they are like best friends. I was lucky enough to recently get some shots of them during the latter.

UPDATE: Oliver had his ultrasound yesterday. The good news is that they found no masses on his pancreas, the bad news is that his pancreas is severely inflamed and he will be spending the rest of the week in hospital receiving IV fluids and medication to try to keep him hydrated and reduce the inflammation. The estimated cost for this visit is approximately $1,800. All donations will be put towards this expense first and foremost. #cats #catsofmastodon #mutualaid
